LATER

I head upstairs to go to bed when I hear a scuffling noise as well as a light banging noise coming from (y/n)’s room. I open the door to her room and see that see that her blanket had been thrown off. She’s tossing and turning quite a lot. I walk up closer to her. She’s sweating and looks in distress.

    “(y/n)?” I call.

Nothing. I call one more time with the same result. Then I leave the room. With nothing else to do about it.

    READER’S POV

You wake up sit up with a jolt gasping in terror.

    A LITTLE BIT LATER

“It seems I have slept all through yesterday and into late this morning. I’m sorry, Mey-rin.” You rub your head.

“It tis perfectly fine, Milady.” She smiles. “Shall we dress for the day?”

“Ah….” You opened your mouth to speak, but, nothing came out. You are a bit afraid.

“What tis it, Milady?” She asks worried.

“I’m kind of…. Shy. Can I dress myself?” You blush a bit.

“Oh! Yes, of course you can. Just ring the bell if you need help tightening your corset. There were some dresses delivered last night. I’ll be sure to knock first.” She smiles.

“Th-thank you.” You smile back and then she leaves you.

You get out of bed and find the wardrobe full. “They got all this for me?”

You pick out a navy blue dress with white pinstripes.

It takes you fifteen minutes to sew the back of your dress up alone. You are done in a half hour.

You walk out of the room into the hall and head toward Ciel’s study. You knock.

“You may enter.” You hear him say and well the sound of sipping tea.

You come in and shut the door behind you.

“Do you always sleep like that?” He asks bluntly while sipping his tea, again.

“Huh? Oh, yeah. I do.” You blush a little.

“Nightmares?” He asks and gestures for you to sit.

“Usually that’s the case.” You nod.

    “Usually?” He asks.

“Last night when I went to sleep I was in my world.” You explain.

    “What happened?” He asks intrigued.

“I’m in a coma. It appears I’ve been on life support for a while. In my world we have machines that help people breath and stay alive when they can’t do it themselves.” You frown a bit.

“What happens if you die?” He asks.

“I think I’d end up staying here forever.” You answer.

“I see.” You think you see something in his eyes, but, his face stays calm, nearly emotionless, like always. “So, will you be staying much longer?”

“If you mean in this world, I hope so. I don’t really want to wake up.” You explain.

“Do you have any relatives?” He asks wrinkling his eye brows a bit.

    “Well…. Yeah….” You trail off.

    “Then why?” He asks confused.

“Just the fact that you’re real is a dream come true, let alone staying at the Phantomhive Manor. You mean a lot to me, even if you are dangerous.” You rest your chin on your hand and look out the window so you can’t see his face.

“I do?” He asks with genuine surprise.

“Yes. The way you see the world is the same as me. Humans are selfish creatures that will do anything to be happy with their own life even if it tramples others. Human society is based off of rules made by people with power. Reality is a figment of the mind.” You say. Ciel is quiet. You look over at him. He’s looking at the surface of his desk without lowering his head. “Are you…. Blushing?” You ask widening your eyes in shock. “I’ve only seen you do that once.”

“Be quiet. I’m most likely getting ill.” He says sharply and leaning back in his chair.

“Lair. You speak sharply when you’re embarrassed and you’ve been nice to me since I got here.” You point out. “What’s going on?”

He gets up and walks over to the door. Then thrusts it forward. You hear a Crack! Noise. “I hope that hurt.”

“It did.” You hear Sebastian on the other side of the door then you hear his footsteps fade off into the manor halls.

“I enjoy having you around.” Ciel answers your question and leans against the front of his desk.

“You can do that? I mean you can like people?” You ask as you face gets a little hot.

“What do you think I am?” He asks raising an eyebrow in annoyance.

“Uhm…. Right…. Even Sebastian likes cats….” You ramble a bit.

Ciel chuckles darkly a bit and takes a sip of his tea while he’s still standing.

    “What?” You frown.

“You’re actually cute.” He chuckles a bit more.

“Hey!” You stand up defensively and realize you are standing very close to him.

You stare at him speechlessly for a moment. He speaks first, “I suddenly had something come up.” He moves around to sit at his desk again, “It might take all day. Why don’t you spend the exploring the manor.” He suggests.

“Oh. Okay. Is it a job for the queen?” You ask heading toward the door.

“I’ll tell you later.” With this you leave his study.

You spend the day wondering. Mostly in the library. You find some interesting books. They are the newest looking 1800’s books you’ve ever seen. You take 4 of them to your room. You go out to the garden, too. The grass is soft and a health bright green. There are many kinds of flowers flourishing in the Phantomhive Garden. The roses are blooming beautifully and bright. But, all you can think about is spending time with Ciel now that he is real. You know now that you won’t be waking up anytime soon, but, still…. You end up helping Mey-rin with her chores.

The day passes quickly and soon it’s time for evening tea when you found out some news. “We’re heading to town tomorrow.”

“Really?” You try to mask the excitement, but, it shows a little.

“You’ve never seen this country, this century, or this reality correct?” He smirks sipping tea.

“Yeah, but, you don’t have to.” You say.

    “Did I ask your opinion?”

You just smile to yourself for a moment. “So, that’s what you suddenly needed to do all day?”

    He hesitates, “Yes.”

“I’ve never seen you act like this before. You don’t usually go out of your way to work on anything that doesn’t evolve the underworld. ” You comment.

“It’s very unsettling when you say things like that and they’re true.” He says raising an eyebrow.

    “Sorry.” You say.

“Don’t be. It’s almost time to head to bed, but, I want to notify you that you might want to wear something light tomorrow. The weather is going to be quite warm.” You both then head to bed.
